Good morning everyone!

Today I am sharing some more of our scraplift creations from our round robin!

First up is Michelle who created this amazing layout using the Septembers 'Tanya's Industrial Odyssey' kit from Scraps Of Darkness.

I love the black netting, and  whole drama of the layout!
Michelle chose this beautiful layout from Patricia to lift!
Patricia created this layout using the July 2015 Scrap Of Elegance kit.

Next I have this amazing layout by Lynne using the September 2015 kit 'Lisa's Sweet September Kit'!

Scraps of Elegance scrapbook kits: Lynne Joncas created this sweet squirrel layout with our Lisa's Sweet September Kit.

She added lots of stenciling with texture paste and distressed or tore the edges of all the papers before inking them.. The chipboard title piece was run through an embossing folder before it was painted with acrylic paint and then inked as well. She fussy cut some flowers and mushrooms  from the papers and added Prima flowers and diecut foliage A twine frame completed the page

Our 2015 Halloween kit: Danse Macabré

If you've followed us through the years, you probably know that I always do a Scraps of Darkness Halloween kit in October.  And if that's the case, you also know that i never to a "cute" Halloween kit!  So with no further delay, I am excited to be sharing our October 2015 Scraps of Darkness kit:

Scraps of Darkness scrapbook kits: Oct 2015 Danse Macabre - our annual Halloween kit

How could I possibly resist including Graphic 45's GORGEOUS and EERIE Rare Oddities collection in THE Halloween kit?  The answer is simple: I couldn't! So I've included 7 of the irresistible papers from that collection, as well as the 12x12 Cardstock Stickers, and Chipboard 1.  I also sneaked in 2 fabulous papers from Authentique's Moonlit collection, and one from Echo Park's Hocus Pocus collection (that purple plaid goes splendidly with the G45 goodness!). I of course needed some apothecary bottles, and Blue Fern Studios Chipboard had just the perfect set... And you know I love Lindy's... so I added in a rockin' Jazzy Jivin Purple Starburst mist. Even a Halloween kits needs beautiful flowers, and I knew this Prima Sylvan flower stem was the perfect find (I think that Jazzy Jivin Purple would be the perfect touch on that flower stem, don't you?).  I couldn't stop there, so the kit also includes an 8x8 wood bracket shaped surface, the most adorable little frog stamp from Paper Parachute, 2 spooking resin skulls by Tim Holtz, a sheet of coordinating solid color cardstock, and 2 colors of Prima Jute Trim, 1 yard of each.

And then of course, there are the add ons...  because who doesn't need more "stuff" to create with?!

Patterned Paper (these are the same papers you will find in the Main Kit - it's just an extra set so you can play with both sides!):
Scraps of Darkness annual Halloween mixed media scrapbook kit: Danse Macabre Patterned Paper Add On, featuring Graphic 45 Rare Oddities, Authentique Moonlit, Echo Park Hocus Pocus collections papers.

You can stop by the store to check out what's in the add ons, or to pick up our limited edition kit before it sells out.  If you do stop by, check out our Halloween selection, we have lots of goodies that will go nicely with this kit.

I also want to mention that the ladies on our Design Team will be sharing their work with this kit throughout the month, providing tons of inspiration, and our Educators will have 4 video tutorials to go along with the kit, as always, so be sure to stop back regularly so you don't miss a thing...

Mixed Media Monday!

Today I have a few awesome projects to share with you. All of them were created with our September Scraps of Elegance kit: 'Lisa's Sweet September'.

First is a stunning canvas from Lisa Griffith....

I just adore the color palette and the background work is amazing!

next up is this amazing interactive mini album from Lisa N!

Scraps of Elegance scrapbook kits: Lisa Novogrodski created this shabby chic mixed media mini album using the Rebecca Baer stencils and fabulous techniques with our Lisa's Sweet September Kit. Find our kits here: www.scrapsofdarkness.com

The front and back cover of her mini album are from a mini album we received in a former kit.  and she of used only the two pieces of the hardboards to create the covers.

Melinda is selling these gorgeous stencils by Rebecca Baer in the SOD/SOE store.... Lisa used the one
  called "Moroccan Tile and Vine."
We have a wide selection of these gorgeous stencils. They are very unique and so beautiful to work with. Take a look at them all  ------ here

Lisa used the stencil on the front cover with two different distress inks and blue and brown tone.
She used the beautiful chipboard from Graphic 45 Gilded Lily Collection and the Ornate Metal Keyholes. The Papermania "Oyster Blush Lace paper doily is from a past kit and has a gorgeous golden sheen to it.  She layered on the kit and past kit flowers.

She used some Viva Rusty Patina, Inka Gold and Smooch in Pool on the keyhole to give it a worn look. The whole album was splattered with Lumiere in Bright Gold and she used Blue Fern Studios Autumn Anthology Le Ballon paper on the cover.

To add some fun elements and interest, and to create something a little different from her other albums she created all her own pages and she varied sizes!
She used the "Balcony" papers from the Blue Fern collection on the inside cover.

Peeking into the book this is the first page you would flip to. She die cut the postage stamp in chipboard then covered it in the Blue Fern Autumn Anthology "Cottage."

Lisa is really inspired by Steph Miller from Prima.  She has a tutorial on a page like this with a little pocket and flip out page.  Lisa used the Graphic 45 Gilded Lily- both the paper and the chipboard pieces. The chipboard pieces are included in the Elements Add On. You can find them ------HERE

You can see here how the cute little pocket folds outs.

This page was created with acrylic. She cut a piece of Clear Scraps Acrylic and ran it through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder to achieve the textured effect. After she used several alcohol inks with blending solution to color the acrylic.

She used a Prima Resin Frame colored with Rusty Patina, Lumiere and Smooch. She used the same on the Keyhole.

This is the backside of the acrylic. She used more Graphic 45 Gilded Lily and created a pocket to tuck tags into. This is embellished with the little envelopes and chipboard pieces that are part of the Gilded Lily collection.

This page was created with a vellum base.  This page was constructed using a technique once again from Steph Miller's Epiphany album. There are three fold out pages for journaling, photos, to attach or tuck mementos into.

She used more of the Blue Fern Studios papers for this one - "Parfumerie"

She likes to paint all the edges of her chipboard with Lumiere in gold. She does this to the mini album chipboard edges and postage stamp edges because she does not like raw chipboard look.

She kept the back cover pretty simple because if you are laying the album down you don't really want a ton of embellishment because it will get worn and crushed. She used more inking with the Rebecca Baer stencil and splatters of course!

And finally I will share a stunning mixed media layout from Stephanie!

Scraps of Elegance scrapbook kits: Stéphanie Papin created this gorgeous white mixed media layout with our Lisa's Sweet September Kit. Find our kits here: www.scrapsofdarkness.com

Stephanie started with one of the Blue Fern Papers that she covered with clear gesso.  She wanted to create a more 'Bohemian' layout with a soft and light page.

She wanted to try new techniques.  She used glaze over her paper to create 'clouds of color' and the new Rebecca Baer Moroccan Tile stencil and Ingvild Bome chalk ink from the kit!

now here are some of her wonderful details!

Off-The-Page projects that will inspire you!

Good morning!  Today begins the weekend, and we have some gorgeous projects to share with you today.

The first is a beautiful altered photo frame:

Scraps of Darkness scrapbook kits: Tracey Gregory created this western style shabby chic altered photo frame with our Sept. Tanya's Industrial Odyssey Kit.

Tracy Gregory created this gorgeousness, and I have to tell you, she has me wanting to do an altered frame now! She used the September SOD Tanya's Industrial Odyssey kit and add ons to alter it.

Tracey started out with the Multicraft Imports Wood Frame with Blinder Doors that she had received in our March Scraps of Elegance Creativity Add on.  Here's a photo of what it looked like before she started, so you can see the transformation she acheived:

Next we have an altered Finnabair Journal.  Tiffany Solorio used our September SOE Lisa's Sweet September kit and add ons to alter it:

I would never have guessed this from how beautifully it turned out, but Tiffany says it's the first time she's ever done a project like this!

And the last project we have to share today is a Swag Bag by Renea.  Renea is the queen of shabby chic, and she says these "Swag Bags" are all the rage now. She is currently hosting a Swag Bag Swap in our Facebook Community Group.

Scraps of Elegance scrapbook kits: Renea Harrison created this shabby chic angel wings gift bag with our Lisa's Sweet September Kit.

Renea created this gorgeousness with our September Lisa's Sweet September kit.  She says:

I took my inspiration from some Angel Wings that I saw on Pinterest by Carla Nathan:

I changed  the design of my wings to an "in flight " spread, instead of a resting stance, by hand drawing my own wings and  going from there. I just love anything winged, and these angel wings were perfect for the the theme that I was creating for this bag.

I started with just a plain white 8 x 10 gift bag, and I created chipboard panels for it to mount on all 4 sides, painted the edges white with white gesso, and then layered on papers from the kit that I distressed and inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

I then added some of my FAV white, beaded Fuzzy Trim from my stash around the top of the bag,

I then took some lace and wrapped the handles to give them a nice designer look, added some seam binding that I misted with Prima ~Tea Dye Color Bloom and crinkled, some pieces of lace panel and popped on a sweet little Reneabouquets Tiny Treasure Gold Tinsel Butterfly.

I added on a 2nd layer of kit papers that I edged in glitter glass, and gold microbeads . Next came a layer of  lace.

I created my Angel Wings by drawing out my pattern onto chipboard, and cutting them out. I then covered the chipboard with lace panel, and then pleated crepe paper and added it onto the chipboard in layers to simulate feathers. I brushed over the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink, and then randomly shot the crepe paper with spray adhesive and sprinkled on some glitter glass.  I added some feathers and a large brooch to the center.

I layered in a paper doily, a  Prima Frame Resin that I rubbed some Inka Gold from a past kit onto, and then I took a little Vintage Image that someone had created an inspirational piece out of  with the quote "What If I fall? Oh, but my darling what if you fly?", on Tumbler, did some digital color changing, then fussy cut her out, and added some glitter glass to her wings and popped her onto the frame.

I created flower layers from some stash mulberry flowers, some of the Petaloo Flowers from this month's floral add on, some more hand dyed seam binding and some hand stamped, fussy cut leaves.

I took one of the Blue Fern Chipboard Crowns from the kit, inked it and then added Inka Gold accents, turned it upside down and placed it under the resin frame as an accent.

For the backside of the Swag Bag, I added more lace, a hand stamped doily and a piece of a FAVorite Emily Dickenson Quote "Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul" as a flow through on my Wings theme.

Scraps of Elegance scrapbook kits: Renea Harrison created this shabby chic angel wings gift bag with our Lisa's Sweet September Kit.

I created a piece for the bottom of the quote, by taking the Blue Fern Chipboard heart, covering it with gold microbeads mixed with glitter glass, and then I hand crafted paper clay wings and added Inka Gold Accents, and layered it all on as one piece.

That's it for today!  I hope you found some inspiration in one or all of these projects for your weekend crafting, and I hope the rest of your day is amazing...

Kathy's rugged masculine layout

Good morning, one more day until the weekend begins!

Today we've got a wonderfully masculine layout to inspire you for weekend scrapbooking:

Scraps of Darkness scrapbook kits: Kathy Mosher created this rugged masculine layout with our Sept. Tanya's Industrial Odyssey Kit.

Here's what Kathy says about this layout:

So excited to share the SOD September kit - Tana's Industrial Odyssey!!  It's filled with the Kaisercraft "Time Machine Collection" and Marion Smith's "Timekeeper" collection.  Perfect for the masculine side of my scrapping adventure.  Let's get started with my first lo of my son, Patrick.  I absolutely adore this photo of him!  It really shows his Alaskan demeanor, rough, rugged, and ready for adventure!

I started with both the background papers from the Timekeeper Paper Pattern Add-On.  I ripped the top piece, distressed the edges.  I then stenciled the little squares on the background using modeling paste.

There are so many patterned cards and tags in the kit, I just had a ball layering them around the photo.  There were stickers, and little crystals that I used to added some elements to the page.

I embossed some chipboard from my stash using the Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder included in the Color Add-On.  Really love how they turned out.  I also backed them with pattern paper which I fussy-cut to put behind the inner portion of the clock and then backed the whole piece with cork.  I used a cog that was included as part of the Main Kit and some large clock hands for the lower clock.

Finally, I added some mica flakes, glitter and micro beads in various places around the layout (frame).

So many fabulous details on Kathy's layout, and it's the perfect inspiration for those "outdoors men" photos you have waiting to be scrapped!  A little more about Kathy's layout:

This month some of our designers and some of the members in our Facebook Community Group are participating in a  Scraplift Round Robin.  We have four teams, each lead by one of our talented designers.  The way it works, one of our designers "scraplifts" a layout from one of the other participating designers, and then the next lucky lady on the round robin team will scraplift her creation.  Kathy was paired with Lynne, one of our SOE designers,  and lifted a sweet layout that Lynne created with the November 2014 Sweet Sentiments kit.  Keep checking in for more wonderful scraplifts from our design team.  This is the layout Lynne created that Kathy lifted:

Stop back tomorrow to see some gorgeous off the page projects we have to share!
